Doug serves as the Supplier Management Senior Leader in special projects for Boeing Commercial Airplanes. In this position, Doug assumes responsibility for the oversight, interface and management of the Fabrication Division’s engagement and partnering with Supplier Management. In addition, Doug is currently the Project Director for the Kingdom of Morocco partnership with The Boeing Company, responsible for the execution and engagement of an MOU outlining special government incentives for the Boeing supply base to relocate work in the Kingdom of Morocco.
Prior to these responsibilities, Doug was the Director of Supplier Management at Boeing South Carolina responsible for leading the organization on supplier performance, reducing risk, and protecting the 787 production system at BSC. Doug also held leadership roles in Boeing South Carolina Business Operations organization, responsible for Mid/Aft performance and operations, Final assembly and delivery, as well the PP&C organization responsible for the approval and implementation of change activity in the production system.
Doug’s 30+-year career in Supplier Management and Business Operations includes experience in purchasing, contract negotiation, inventory management, critical supplier performance recoveries, implementation of critical production system enablers, reducing risk, cost and flow. Doug joined Boeing Commercial Airplanes in 1989 and has been in several organizations within Supplier Management including; Buyer Furnished Equipment, seats, Interiors, Systems & Equipment and Structures. Doug has actively worked on all Boeing Commercial Programs in his tenure with some highlights being the 777 seat certification and implementation, 767 Tanker and 787-8,9 &10, into production, first flight and delivery.
Doug holds a Bachelors of Arts degree from The University of Washington in Political Science. Doug also served on several boards in South Carolina such as The South Carolina Aerospace State Council, Low Country Manufacturing Association, East Cooper Community Outreach board, and the Tri-State Minority Owned Business Council. Doug is married to Linda with 4 children and 4 grandchildren. While not playing with them, Doug is an avid golfer and fly fisherman.
